App editions

Updated 5 September 2026

Neither edition is published yet. This page describes what is being built, so you know which one to pick when they arrive. See get the app to be notified.

Two builds, because two very different people use this product and Android makes you choose up front which permissions an app asks for.

Gateway — the full edition

Reads incoming SMS, forwards them, and sends. This is the one you want if you are forwarding codes and bank alerts, or running an API-driven gateway. It asks for SMS permissions, and separately — only if you switch it on — for notification access, which reads only the apps you tick.

Sender — sending only

Sends messages and nothing else. It never asks to read your SMS. Choose it if all you need is to put messages out through your own SIM from your own software, and you would rather not grant read access at all. Some organisations find this the easier one to justify.

Which to install

If you want to…Edition
Forward incoming SMS to Telegram, Slack, e-mail, a webhookGateway
Forward app notifications as well as SMSGateway
Only send messages from your own codeSender
Avoid granting SMS read permission at allSender

You can switch later by installing the other build; your account, keys and rules stay as they are.
